Automotive product goes on continuous improvements in quality, safety, and reduction of environmental impact during and after the vehicle life cycle. Automotive manufacturing chain uses large number of constructional, operational, and processing materials that need to be selected properly.
To meet such objectives global automotive supply chain, automotive manufacturers, tier suppliers and material suppliers came forward and established Global Automotive Stakeholder Group (GASG). The GASG organization is divided into three regions, Americas, Europe/Africa/Middle East, and Asia/Pacific.
Global Automotive Declarable Substance List (GADSL) is the product prepared by Global Automotive Stakeholder Group (GASG) during discussions & dialogues that covers substances that are expected to be present in a material or part that remains in a vehicle at point of sale. These substances may be any chemical elements or chemical compounds as a part of material. GADSL lists certain substances used in automotive industries that have potential to impact human health and environment. GADSL categorizes various substances as Prohibited (must not use in at least one region or must not exceed the threshold limits), Declarable (must be declared if exceeds threshold limits), Declarable or Prohibited, Legally Regulated, For Assessment, For Information.
